Drammen trolleybus, Norway, circa 1915

This was a 7.7 km system which lasted from 1909 to 1967. Unlike almost all other trolleybus systems of the time which used the Schiemann trolley and catenary system, the Drammen trolleybuses used the experimental Filovia system - two wires were located 15 cm (6 inches) apart (at 550 V) and the vehicles used a single trolley pole. This continued to the end and Drammen was the last trolleybus system in the world to use this type of current collection. The first four buses and the infrastructure were delivered by Max Schiemann & Cie of Germany. More pics here

The Drammen used the second generation Schiemann single boom current collection system, not the the Italian Filovia system.
