Milano Centrale station, Italy

Milan Central station is the second largest in Italy and traffic volume is about 600 trains per day. It has 24 tracks, two subway lines and is the terminus of several bus and tram lines. It is used every day by more than 320 thousand people, a total of 120 million per year. It is located in Piazza Duca d'Aosta, between Piazza Luigi di Savoia and Piazza IV Novembre, in the city center.

The design plans were approved in 1924, but with the changing political climate there were changes and a reorganization of decorative choices. Among the notable variants was the choice of semi-circular large steel and glass platform halls. The main arch height reaches 72 metres and is the largest built in Italy. The canopies can reach a length of 341 metres, covering an area of 66,500 square metres. The station was finally opened in May 1931.
