Cascade passenger train which from 17 April 1927, accompanying the opening of its Cascade Line between Black Butte, California and Springfield, Oregon, ran between Oakland, California and Portland, Oregon with a connecting sleeping car to Seattle. The
Cascade was part of the upgrade of SP's Shasta Route between the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest.
