An R class Single Fairlie steam loco (see earlier posts) seen at Opaki north of Masterton in the Wairarapa in 1897, during the construction of the north Wairarapa railway from Masterton to Woodville. Another photo that was considered for, but not used in the book Wellington Transport Memories.
