Adelaide trolley action, 1960
As those who have the book Railway Electrification in Australia and New Zealand know, the light rail line from central Adelaide to the beachside suburb of Glenelg was originally a heavy rail line, converted long before the trend became fashionable. These views show the tramcars in the livery they were in until the 1970s, arguably more attractive than the subsequent brown, seen at Parklands and at the beachside terminus in 1960. The line survived being closed like the rest of Adelaide's tramways in the late 1950s and is now a major tourist attraction. For more, see the book.
