Soviet railway and missile art, 1988


Depicting a train with an SS-24 MOD 1 ICBM. This was commissioned by the Defense Intelligence Agency of Edward L. Cooper in 1988. DIA artists completed more than 1,000 paintings during the Cold War, when the Soviet Union posed the major threat to the security of the United States, to illustrate publications and support official briefings.
