At the time of writing she is set to get one of the 12 Queensland seats in the Australian Federal senate in last night's Australian election. Like Donald Trump, she wants a ban on Muslim immigration and has called for a Royal Commission of Enquiry into Islam in Australia.
The solid majority in the Australian parliament that former Prime Minister Tony Abbot gained in the 2013 election with a policy of stopping the boat people illegal immigrants (a problem that now seems small in comparison to what Europe has been experiencing) was lost by his successor Malcolm Turnbull, although it seems that the governing coalition will just scrape through and hold onto power.
