pickup at Loongana, Western Australia

Loongana is a remote siding on the transcontinental railway line, formerly the site of a lime mine and processing plant. The settlement was dependent on the Tea and Sugar Train for the delivery of supplies until 1996 when the train was withdrawn. The Indian Pacific still stops here. (Jean Campbell)

Wow, that old Ute looks just like Frank Trask's Ford Courier (Frank founded Loongana Lime). Frank is a very intelligent Mining Engineer, Metallurgist, Geologist - he founded pre Loongana Lime Kalgoorlie Lime and Chemical Company... Not sure who the chap is, but with two cold cans in hand as a welcome I am guessing it was in the early 90's!
