Boqueron tunnels, Caracas, Venezuela, 1950s

Part of the Caracas–La Guaira autopista (highway) which connects Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, to its principal port city of La Guaira, the two highway tunnels are each a set of twin tubes separated by a natural wall of about 12 metres wide, with two lanes of traffic in one direction on each side. The first Boqueron tunnel measures 1,910 metres (6,266 ft) and the second measures 497 metres (1,631 ft).
