The first of the Ae 8/14 class, 11801, from 1931 of which two more followed. The third from 1940 had a streamlined shell rather than the boxy appearance of the first two. This is an articulated 34-metre long, 246 tonne, 1-Bo-1-Bo-1+1-Bo-1-Bo-1 type, thus 8 powered axles. Since 1984 this class leader has been in the SBB museum fleet.
