Leyland Tiger coach
A Leyland Tiger coach heads over Admiral Hill east of Masterton, the coach belonging to Peter Allan who operated a small fleet from Masterton in the 1970s and 1980s before being bought out by Tranzit Group. Coach number 8 was built in 1986 with New Zealand Motor Bodies Coachwork, one of only an estimated 8 to enter service with various companies. The painting shows it in the original guise; it eventually became coach 230 in the Tranzit fleet. It has since been sold to New Zealand Coachlines - Upper Hutt, and was seen recently in Levin. It is not known how many of the sister coaches survive. (painting by Wallace Trickett)
