A photo of Mountain House in Egmont National Park in the 1950s showing a Seddon bus with a Meadows diesel motor operated by Gibsons. The car next to it is an Allard, a model K or P type which is more likely as the rounded top to the grill came in about 1952. Earlier grills extended further up on the bonnet and had a reverse curve. They were built on a Ford Pilot chassis and running gear with the engine moved back to make front/rear weight about 50/50. Hand made alloy body, rear part on ash wood frame, pilot motor which was a small bore about 2.3 litres. They would just do 100 mph (160 km/h) if you took the fan/generator belt off. The upholstery was leather. They suffered from door sag being a two door sedan with enormous rear hinged doors. (info thanks to Pete)
