Bruce McLaren


A card honoring NZer Bruce McLaren,- born 30 August 1937 in Auckland; died 2 June 1970 racing in Goodwood, Englanda world Formula 1 champion, who competed in in 98 Grand Prix from 1958 to 1970. A brilliant driver, he also founded the McLaren team, which become one of the most prestigious of motorsport history. Here he is driving a 420 hp Ford V8.

Terrible year, 1970. I remember the tragedies like they were yesterday.
It's hard to be ceratin, but the other two racers look like Jochen Rindt and Piers Courage, two Grand Prix greats also destined to lose their lives in that fateful year.
