Avigdor Liberman |
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman accused Syrian President Bashar Assad of being directly responsible for a chemical attack this week that has left scores dead and spurred international outrage and calls for action against Damascus.
In an interview with the Yedioth Ahronoth daily published Thursday, Liberman said that he has “100 percent certainty” that Assad himself was directly responsible for the the attack, but also said Israel would not get involved militarily to stop the bloodshed.
Israeli military intelligence is high tech and usually (although not always) gets things right. As we have commented in the past, Assad is a problem will need to not be a part of a Syrian unity government.
