Paris authorities get tough with Roma pests

It's hard to travel on the metro in any major European city, both on the trains and in the stations, without encountering groups of organised Roma (gypsies) from Romania engaged in begging and stealing, usually by pickpocketing, and Parisians have had enough of them.

Obviously when travelling on trains in Europe you want to ensure your wallet is inaccessible to groping fingers and practice saying "scram!, clear off!", etc. in Romanian.
