countries that drive on the left and those that drive on the right


As seen in the previous post, Sweden drove on the left in 1964 and continued to do so until 3 September 1967.  The map shows the countries which today drive on the left in blue and on the right in red. The most recent to change - from right to left - was Samoa, for the reason that cars from Japan and Australia were cheaper than from RHD countries.

NZ is in the left side group like the UK, and given that the majority of cars on the roads come from Japan and Australia that is unlikely to change.  Info about the history of the subject is on this website
