Air New Zealand's 75th anniversary exhibition
As those who have our book The Aircraft of Air New Zealand and Affiliates since 1940 know, Air New Zealand dates back to 1940 with the creation of Tasman Empire Airways Limited or TEAL. As this year is the 75th anniversary year, a big exhibition is being staged on the 4th floor of the Te Papa Museum in Wellington, with free admission. Perhaps the coolest exhibit is the recreation of part of the passenger cabin of a Short S.45 Solent Mk IV flying boat, complete with the engine noise that you would have experienced if actually seated in one flying, as in the pic.
