a Motorboot?



The "VW" at the top indicates what it began life as before extensive modifications.  VW Beetles have been the subject of quite a few such modifications around the world by people who want their wheels to be wacky. See the book 50 Years of Volkswagens in New Zealand for more examples.

Probably a promo pic when new, taken in Wellington's Oriental Bay. At the time Whittaker's was based in Vivian Street but expansion needs saw it move to Porirua and is today a major brand in NZ.
