Since the end of the trams in the early 1960s, this has been used by buses. One notes the the Red Cross of the ad on the front of the tram on the right.

Most electric tram lines in the network around Nice were controlled by the Compagnie des Tramways de Nice et du Littoral (TNL) which in 1930 comprised 144 km of tracks (in standard gauge) and possessed a fleet of 183 powered cars and 96 trailers.

That was the peak year, however, and in January 1930 trams disappeared from Monaco.

Considering that it was easy to get a train the 21 km between the two places as it is today, the competition from the slower, if more fun trams didn't make much sense.

The second of three such launches, the first was bought by Frank Haworth (who passed away in 2015, aged 92) in 1950, this in 1959 and a third, a hydrofoil, in the mid-1960s, which lasted until 1982.

No date or location. A total of 8 of this Bo-Bo type were built between 1961 and 1971, based on an English Electric design, and with a prime mover output of just 800 hp (600 kW), it suggests this train is moving on level grade or downhill as it would need more power for a climb. This example, Y3, is now preserved in Launceton.
