4 donkey-power lashup, Genoa, Italy, 1900s
Called Genova in Italian, and Gênes in French. The donkey to which the cart is hitched probably has the most demanding task. It may be a rural scene, but Genoa is a reasonably sized city on the Italian riviera, a map from 1924 is below.
