Honolulu's elevated railway underway

Officials broke ground on 22 February on Honolulu’s proposed elevated transit line. The project is a 20-mile (32 km) elevated rail line that will connect West O`ahu with downtown Honolulu and Ala Moana Center with 21 intermediate stops.  The system features electric, steel-wheel trains capable of carrying more than 300 passengers each. The trains can carry more than 8,000 passengers per hour in each direction.  New bus routes will provide direct connections to the stations. Project Video
