tramways in Damascus, Syria
The tramway system in Damascus (in French - Damas) opened on 7 February 1907. Rather than metre-gauge it used a peculiar 1050 mm gauge. It eventually extended to 10 km with six routes, including a long suburban line to Douma. It closed in 1967.
