Mont St Michel, France
A great line-up of classic 1960s European buses in this postcard! This parking area is only accessible across a causeway at low tide. However, this will soon be replaced by an elevated light bridge, under which the waters will flow more freely, and the construction of another parking lot on the mainland. It will also make the island a true island. Visitors will use small shuttles to cross the future bridge which will still be open to pedestrians and unmotorized cycles.
And while on the subject, here are a couple of Photochroms from over a century ago inside the monastery.
