VWs in Guiné-Bissau, 1960s

At the time of this view, this small African country was known as Portuguese Guinea until it was given independence in 1974. Here in the street there are a VW pick-up, a VW Transporter van and what looks like a 1940s Dodge truck.
A closer view of the wharf, Ponte Cais, seen in the above postcard - this says "disembarkation of forces, war of 1908".  Like many parts of Africa, Guiné-Bissau has had a history of military conflict.
