Bergen then and now

From a fishing port to Norway's second biggest city after Oslo.  A postcard from the 1900s and a view taken on a ship in July 2007. Tourists often reach the city by travelling over the Bergensbanen or Bergen railway from Oslo: from near sea level to 1200 metres and back to near sea level, the equivalent to New Zealand's Midland Line, although longer and with different scenery.
