Rock Island Station, Topeka, Kansas, 1910s

Two separate views; the amount of ivy on the second suggests it is a later pic. In either case, was the colorist informed of the actual colors?

"This Rock Island passenger terminal at 1st St. & Kansas Avenue. was a 'stub' operation with all trains having to use the wye a few blocks west of this location. It is unclear if standard practice was for passenger trains to back into the station then utilize the wye upon departure, or if the reverse was usual. It is certainly reasonable to assume that both methods were used over the years, with one being more customary that the other. This must have quite a grand & beautiful structure to observe in person! I have never seen any color photos of this station, which burned down in the 1930's." (TrainOrders.com)

The present day scene.

The present day Topeka Amtrak station is about half a mile away.
