Norwegian 0-4-2T from 1860

"This is the very first 3 ft 6 in gauge steam locomotive on a public railway anywhere in the world. It is No.1 of the Hamar – Grundset Railway in Norway photographed at Løten station. The date was 18 October 1861, and it is believed to be taken during a test run. Regular timetabled operations commenced on the railway the following month. The locomotive is an 0-4-2T built by Robert Stephenson & Co. in 1860."
