Locomotive number 2607 was a 4-8-4 type, one of 12 built by Alco for Northern Pacific in 1926. Eventually Northern Pacific became part of Burlington Northern, and after the merger with Santa Fe, today BNSF.
The North Coast Limited ran between Chicago and Seattle. It commenced service on 29 April 1900, and only ceased operation the day before Amtrak began service on 1 May 1971.
