This was a 7 km metre-gauge system, operated by La Société béarnaise des tramways urbains (SBTU), horse drawn from 1894 to 1900 and from then to the end in April 1931, electric powered. The power plant was near the station on the banks of the Ousse River.  Rolling stock comprised 14 power cars and 5 trailers.

The three lines of the system were:
  • ligne 1: - Boulevard Guillermin - la Croix du Prince
  • ligne 2: - Route de Bordeaux - La Halle, (place Georges Clemenceau)
  • ligne 3: - La gare du Midi - La Halle, (place Georges Clemenceau)
