SNCF ex-PO BB class electrics from 1924

The BB numbers 1-80 were part of a series of 200 locomotives for mixed service ordered by the réseau Paris-Orléans on the occasion of the electrification (in 1500 Volts DC) of the line Paris - Vierzon. They were used in a variety of deployments, but particularly Paris suburban services on the networks of the southwest and southeast, and on the Maurienne line. They were nicknamed the 'Biquettes'.  The photo shows the last run with one at Lyon Perrache on 30 May 1981.
