tramway steam loco

You may wonder at what point a tramway became a railway, and that was a point of contention in this part of the world too.  The general attitude seemed to be, 'if it's short and insubstantially constructed, it's a tramway.'

Brezolles was on a line denoted as a tramway between Dreux and Senoches, France, 41 km, which ceased in 1933.  A history of it is on this webpage

Looking at its locomotives, there were 7 used on the line, all 0-6-0T type built by Corpet-Louvet in Paris at 117 avenue Philippe-Auguste, between 1898 and 1914.  Of these the first two weighed 12 tonnes, the next 4 weighed 16 tonnes and the last 16.5 tonnes.

Typical characteristics of the 0-6-0T steamers built by Corpet-Louvet: 16 tonnes empty, 21 tonnes laden, wheel diameter 0.90 m, cylinder diameter 30 cm, piston stroke 45 cm, length excluding buffers 6.58 metres, total width 2.10 metres, wheelbase (length of contact with the rails) 2.10 metres, 2300 litres of water capacity, 1 tonne of coal, 3,780 kg of tractive effort. They were one of the most extensively used models in France.
