Featherston Street, Wellington, mid 1930s

A Percy Godber view looking south along Featherston Street with Panama Street intersecting across, about 1936.  The old General Post Office is on the left; this was demolished in 1972 and left as a hole in the ground until the Park Royal (now Intercontinental) Hotel was opened in the late 1980s.  The buildings on the right were replaced by the National Bank building in the 1960s.  It was a two-way street in those days.
