how Rupert Murdoch's global media organisation hacks phones, etc.


An interesting article in the Scientific American.  It looks like Murdoch's organisation has engaged in this sort of behaviour in the US too (are we surprised?):  under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) News International may also face prosecution based on allegations that News of the World reporters offered to pay a New York police officer to retrieve the private phone records of victims of the September 11 attacks.
