the 'Czar Peter'

Obviously a name and a postcard that date before the Russian revolution. The Czaar Peter saloon boat was built in 1908. The 52 metres long and over seven meters wide ship could accommodate 1,400 passengers and ten tons of goods. One source says the ship was scuttled during WW2 to prevent it falling into German hands. After the war, the boat was raised and put to sea again.  Incidentally, the word Czar originated from Caesar, as did Kaiser.
