trams in old Nice

The Tramway de Nice et du Littoral (TNL) was a metre gauge urban and interurban tramway system along the coast that reached a maximum extent of 144 km with 183 tramcars and 96 trailers.  By 1953, however, it was gone.

In 2007 a new standard gauge tramway was inaugurated, but it has yet to reach even 10% of the route length of former system.

The painting by Louis Broud is "Avenue de la Gare, Nice" and the postcard from the 1900s shows the tram stop at La Place Massena.
