Photographed in Christchurch by Samuel Heath Head. The sign on the bus reads “Edison Electric Vehicle. Christchurch to Dunedin. A.R. Harris & Co. Sole NZ Agents. Chch.”  Details are not recorded about how comfortable and reliable it was, particularly compared with the train.
