A total of 165 of this Co-Co type were built by A.E. Goodwin of Auburn, NSW, between 1959 and 1970. The model was an Alco DL531, and the engine was a Alco 6-251B rated at 1,050 hp (780 kW). Seven still exist, four operational. The example is pictured at Fassifern in 1970.
