former ship M/S 'Nordnorge'

 

Meaning North Norway, this was a 2,611 ton passenger and cargo ship used on the Hurtigruten to the far north of Norway. Launched on 1 February 1964 by Akers mekaniske verksted of Oslo, this was scrapped at Alang, India, in 2006. Following the completion of a second ship with the name Nordnorge in 1996, the original ship was sold and renamed.

I travelled on that ship in 1974, from Bergen to Harstad (Norway)...
