DDR electric catenary maintenance vehicle


This maintenance vehicle from the VEB Waggonbau in Gorlitz was designed for inspection and repair of overhead line electrified railway lines. It has two internal combustion engines, the mechanical power transmissiona six-speed gearbox, gears in constant view; 2 x two-axle bogies. The interior has two driver's stations, workshop, section leader and working area plus sanitary facilities. Above the front driver's station is an adjustable observation tower to monitor the contact line. On the roof is a fixed and a movable work platform.
 
Weight 51 tonnes, length over buffers 19.3 metres, maximum speed 90 km/h, diesel engine type 928/64 TATRA, the performance of each motor: 120 hp @ 1500 rpm.
