Dublin to Holyhead ferry Hibernia
This steamship was built by William Denny & Brothers of Dumbarton, and launched on 10 October 1899. She was completed in 1900 as the Hibernia and until August 1914 served the cross-Irish Sea ferry service between Dublin in Ireland and Holyhead in Wales of the London & North Western Railway Company.
With the outbreak of WW1 she was requisitioned by the Admiralty for use as an Armed Boarding Steamer and commissioned as HMS Tara. She was torpedoed on 5 November 1915 by U.35 in Sollum Bay and sank.
