Laos 130 years of Metros stamps

"A metro in Laos?" you ask.  In fact, Laos is a country Steven Joyce would like as it has only one railway station and a few km of track for trains from neighbouring Thailand, so quite this stamp issue from 1993 is a little strange. The large scene is supposedly of the opening of the Metropolitan Railway in London in 1863 (the world's first metro), next year will be the 150th anniversary; the other pictures show from top: New York, Berlin and Paris.

The bottom picture is of the electric tube-size City & South London Railway, opened in 1890, not the steam-operated Metropolitan Railway with normal-size trains.
