Texas Electric Railway trolleycar


"Built in 1913 by St. Louis Car Company on Brill 27MCB3x trucks, fleet no. 319." The Texas Electric Railway ran from Dallas to Sherman, Denison, Corsicana, Plano and Waco. It was built in 1908 by the Texas Traction Company and renamed the Texas Electric Railway after a merger in 1917. The system ceased operation at the end of 1948 "due to the rise in popularity of automobile transportation."

The Plano depot building now hosts the Interurban Railway Museum where a restored Texas Electric Railway car can be seen, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  More here
