steam-hauled flyer departing Chicago circa 1935

An atmospheric view of a fast passenger flyer of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific (a.k.a. the Milwaukee Road) leaving Chicago headed for Milwaukee, pulled by engine 6410, a 4-6-4. An engine of the same class made the run between these two points, 85 miles (137 km), in 67 minutes on 22 July 1934, at one point attaining a speed of 103 miles per hour (166 km/h).
