Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad 4-8-4

Howard Fogg (1917-1996) was one of America's best-known railway artists, whose preferred medium was water colour. Here he depicts a class S-1-b hauling the New York Central's Empire State Express in the highlands of the Hudson River, about the time steam was rapidly being replaced by diesel.  More on Howard Fogg soon.
