railway buildings in Oppeln/Opole, Poland

The main station, still there today
The building of the Reichsbahn administration
The statue on the left of the above postcard, still with its German inscription saying "dedicated by occupational comrades, 5 October 1930"
A view from the other side of the main station station building in the top postcard, the steam loco is a preserved PKP (Polish) 2-8-2 tank on its own display track
A station waiting room reached through a subway from the main building under the tracks on the right
stabled Polish electric multiple units
The city of Oppeln in Silesia found itself in Poland after 1945 and renamed Opole. Today like most German cities the scars of WW2 damage are evident, but several German buildings are still there including the station.  Above are old pre-WW2 postcards and photos taken last year by Geoff Churchman. See also an earlier post.
