northern Stockholm's Roslagsban

This is a 65 km long network in 891 mm gauge (equal to 3 Swedish feet or about 2'11") serving north-eastern parts of the greater Stockholm area, opened originally in 1885.  Like the Wellington network, it is electrified in 1500 V DC. As can be seen from the map, it heads north from the Stockholm Östra station before splitting into three branches.  It is part of and operated by Stockholms Lokaltrafik rather than by the SJ.  A group, Roslagsban Veteran Train Union, is dedicated to preserving its older equipment - website with info and pics (Swedish).
EMU at Östermalm, January 1978.  No daylight at 4:15 pm.
