end of Ramadan bombathon in Saudi Arabia

Although suicide and other bombings by 'allahu akbarists' are standard in Iraq, the death toll of 215+ from the suicide truck bombing in Baghdad on Sunday by ISIS targeting Shiite Muslims was impressive.

But what about the home of 'the Religion of Peace'?

At least three people were killed in the blast outside the Prophet's Mosque in Medina in Saudi Arabia on Monday, including a suicide bomber and two security officers, Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television reported.

The bomber detonated his device as the security officers were breaking their day-long fast for Ramadan, Arabiya reported.

Two explosions struck near a mosque in the city of Qatif and Medina in Saudi Arabia on the last day of Ramadan month.

And a suicide bomber blew himself up near the United States consulate in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea city of Jeddah today, reported the Sabq online newspaper, which is close to authorities.

It said two security officers were hurt "as a result of the failed bombing" on July 4, the day when Americans celebrate their independence.

Security officers sealed off the area after "a person blew himself up in a car in front of the US consulate in Jeddah," the report said.
