hauling ore by streetcar, Butte, Montana

The city is mainly known for ore mining.  The first pic is a postcard from the late 1900s, the second was in The Street Railway Review of 1891.

The Butte City Street Railroad and Butte Electric Railway lasted from 1886 to 1937.  The electric railway operated 23 miles of streetcar lines until National City Lines replaced it with buses.  Presumably the ore transport task was given to trucks?
