four forms of transport on the Frankfurt-Darmstadt autobahn, mid-1930s


Probably taken not long after this was opened by Hitler in May 1935 (below), and it's likely the airplane at least was added with the 1930s version of Photoshop.

This was the site of Nazi-sponsored land speed record attempts, one of which cost the life of Auto Union star Bernd Rosemeyer. A memorial now marks the spot.
