around Roma Street station, Brisbane

Staying with Queensland, here are a couple of Geoff Churchman photos, the first showing a QR National freight train passing through what was the Roma Street railyard (see our books for more) and has now been slimmed down into through lines, a lower level bus road to the right, and a landscaped parkland to the left, Roma Street Parkland - some of the space has been used for apartment blocks in the background.
A view from about 50 years ago (Leonard John Mathews)

Here the Brisbane to Cairns Sunlander train, headed by diesels 2365 and 2366, is seen just after departure from Roma Street.
